Yes, Based on the sources Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is said to be the last of GOTG, but there is no Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. James Gunn has said to the fans to never say never, there are no speculations regarding any further Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
But keep your hopes high, I am sure that the characters will sure reappear in the next MCU movies and all I can say is don’t let your hopes die.
What will Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 be about?
Looking at the Trailer we see that the band has got back together and this time as well up to no good, with their usual shenanigans. Drax is as funny as the first part Groot has 6 arms now. Gamora is cold and grim as usual. Rocket, however, has a new story arch this time around. In the trailer, we get to see glimpses of backstory from when Rocket was little(which will be an interesting deviation).
Why the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is far better than any MCU franchise to date.
Well to start off let’s just say, that all the Marvel in the past few years has been the same. Starting with the character introduction, the main character, then comes the side character with a comedic twist, then the obvious comedic twist. A concept is introduced at the beginning of the movie which is later shown in full-bloom action during the climax.
For the most part story is predictable, the only thing which is captivating is the suits and the powers(there can be only so much) and to get past this issue newer characters are also given suits and powers as well, which has become a new norm or a cliche.
Now coming to the Guardians of the Galaxy. It has remained an underdog for the most part, however, the characters have hugely grown in popularity than all the Marvel cinematic universe combined. This being the last part of the series stings and will be dearly missed.
Thor, Captain America, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and others all started with a serious note, however, to cater to the larger audience (also being teens and kids) had to deviate towards the sort of comedic arch. which sort of ruins it for me. Guardians of the Galaxy is the only one which remained true to its nature.
Conclusion:
Releasing on the 5th of May 2023, and a runtime of 2h30min this final movie in the Guardians of the Galaxy will surely not disappoint. Filled with action and comedy, the most unique bit about this movie is also the soundtrack. Let us sit back and enjoy this amazing journey and bid adieu to this series.
